Virtual Technology Review

Virtual technology is a new area of research that has many applications and domains. VR is not without its limitations and difficulties that need to be overcome to continue to develop and advance. VR is not accessible because of its high cost and the associated hardware. It also has technical issues, such as the lack of standardization.

In terms of learning, VR offers an opportunity to try out situations which are challenging or risky to experience in real life, such as an anxiety about flying or exposure to a traumatizing situation. This is especially beneficial for treating mental health issues such as PTSD and PTSD, where VR can assist patients to confront these events in a safe and secure environment.

VR can also aid in professional training, allowing athletes to practice their abilities without having to travel to specific training facilities. This can be especially beneficial in the development of perceptual-cognitive skills like spatial or motor abilities.

There is much work to be done in the fields of theory and methodology and pedagogical approaches. In particular there is a need to clarify how the various features of both the technical and experiential aspects of VR affect learning outcomes in different professional training contexts. A comprehensive review of the literature on this topic could assist in determining the optimal allocation of resources by identifying what VR features are essential for different types of skill development.
